COLD COATING MATERIALS

In order to have a greater reflection of Solar Radiation, the materials must have a high coefficient of reflectivity (ε).
Absorbed solar radiation increases the temperature of pavements.

In order to have a greater emission of infrared radiation, the materials must have a large emission coefficient (ε).
Emitted thermal radiation and heat transfer through the air reduce the temperature of pavements.

After 3 years of research BIOBLOK CHLIAPIS S.A. in collaboration with NATIONAL KAPODISTRIAN UNIVERSITY now produces cold paving materials for cobblestones and slabs in 4 shades. A common characteristic of all four shades is that they reflect more than 50% of the solar radiation resulting in the reduction of the heat island phenomenon. It has been statistically proven that a 10% increase in reflective coatings could reduce Earth's surface temperatures by 4%.
The sophisticated Cold materials with high reflectivity and emission, cause a decrease in the temperature of the surfaces thus reducing the temperature of the environment.

Photocatalysts Coating materials (paving- tiles)

THE BIOBLOK CHLIAPIS S.A. has been producing photocatalytic materials since 2014. Photocatalytic coating materials (tiles - pacing) contain TiO2 as a component in their mass. TiO2 with the help of ultraviolet solar radiation and atmospheric moisture (H2O) converts the dangerous (NO2) of the atmosphere into (NO3) Nitrate ions which are washed away with rainwater and become fertilizer.
